@guitarlessons i bought the 8 pieces set 2 days back, its very nice, i wasn't able to open in GP5, i guess i have to upgrade to GP6. i hope in the future you can post some tutorial videos. that will make it perfect.
regarding the Rode NT1, is it possible to connect to laptop?

@xoticness HI you can open the .tg files in Tux Guitar. I like Guitar Pro 6 since I can add right and left hand fingerings.
To be able to connect the Mike to your computer you would need an audio interface that would convert the sound from the mike to a digital signal via USB, or better Firewire. You can find those converters starting at about $200.00.
The othe choice would be an USB mike but the sound will not be as good. Hope this helps.
