how come when I do this it always look like a stockinette stitch??? Im confused.
-
@viktorious88 Has to be even. So if you are doing 20 CO, it has to be divisible by two (hence 1x1). HTH.

How many cast ons for the 1x1 can they be any amount or have to be even?

thanks for the video!!! It helps me a lot with patterns, because you have to place the yarn in the front for purl and the back for knit! Again thanks!

im confused...i was doing this. but it turned out i was doing a seed stitch. another video says to do every row knit/purl even if you ended on a purl...which THIS makes more sense but this is exactly what i was doing and it turned out i was doing seed stitch instead. so idk what im doing wrong. you say knit the knits and purl the purls therefore every row would be different if you had an even number, right? like youd start your even rows on knit and end on purl and vice versa...?

thank you very much, most people don't show you what to do when you get to the next row :D so thanks a bunch

I'm so happy youtube is available. Even some step by step books don't explain everything, it gets annoying. Great video! Thanks!

is one type of ribbing tighter then the other? is the 1x1 the tightest?

If you are doing the 1 by 1 ribbing this pattern is done with a total of 2 stitches. Whatever you are making make sure it's an even number of stitches---or be able to be divided by 2 since this is a 2 stitch pattern. If you are doing a 2 by 2 ribbing, that is a 4 stitch pattern so you would need to make sure your pattern can be divided by 4. I hope that makes since.

I'm not sure exactly what you mean. Do you mean the basket knit pattern or knitting baskets?
