Practicing for the NBCOT???? Watch this video and try to name all of the senses being used. After that... look for PNF patterns... after that... what "dys" function do you see in anyone's movement? What do you see that is developmentally stimulating? What muscle groups are working? Can you name the musle and the function before the slide changes? How does the occupation of "PLAY" help the person learn? Notice the adult interaction with the children... It is SO IMPORTANT for adults to engage in "PLAY" too. Play is NOT just for kids. It helps ALL of our sensory systems to grow and keep neuropathways strong. So roll down hills, climb trees... anything... Just get up off of that thing and use those brain cells while you still have them! :-) Miss Chrissy

  • nice job, I tried to approve this on my youtube site but nothing happened. will put on my facebook page at The Recycling Occupational therapist

  • @barbaraannsmith Thank you very much! I appreciate you getting the information out there. I will see if there is something I need to fix on my end so it can be posted. Thanks for letting me know. :-)

  • Try this for a classroom project to develop activity analysis skills. Break the video into sections and work as a class in small groups. (Ie. 5 groups taking 2 min. each of the video). Then perform activity analysis and name every function, structure and all other pertinent information required to perform the movements. Chrissy

  • Thank you tayl7376! I hope that students and teachers can find creative ways to use this video. It would be great for "Activity Analysis" projects, or even observational skills quizzes. Ultimately, for occupational therapists, it is about observing human function in action. Promoting occupaitonal therapy! Chrissy
