The tune at 4:37 is the idée fixe. The tune represents the beloved (Harriot Smithson), whom the song was based on. Each movement is a different theme, and by the end, he "takes opium" and hallucinates of killing the beloved. Each movement, the theme returns but in a progressively transforming state.
