WOW! What a wonderful animation! I am speachless about this video art.
The Sopwith has been in fact one of the best models from shop at home - I liked the Model Team style but it was way beyond that! Only the stickers have been a pain once they started to cripple.... :-(
So you have used multiple pictures fused to do the motion blur effects?
When I recently look after motion blur I came across the lohmueller article as well. But then I decided to try MEGAPov instead first.
LEG GODT!

I'm hoping Lego re-releases this set.
awesome job with the animation but, one minor thing, the propeller was spinning the wrong way.

@Telamon8 I wouldn't know, but there are lots of YouTube videos showing "sopwith camels" being started by a guy spinning the propeller counter-clockwise (or clockwise from the pilot's point of view) so that's how I did mine. Am I missing something?

Great to watch! You use PovRay to make these animations, right? How did you make the motion blur of the propeller at the beginning and end of the video?

@Benedek93
Good question! I couldn't find any video software (free, at least!) to do a realistic motion blur.
But I found an article that shows how to fake it within POV-Ray on this page: (YouTube won't let me post the link? do a search for 'simulation of motion blur rotating propeller blades lohmueller )
