    1st off, I literally got a reply chat msg saying "prom stuff up to my neck" as I was replying to this. What a coincidence.

    AKIRA is literally my favorite movie by far. And I dislike most anime. I don't even consider it to be anime, because it is so far above that label.

    Blasphemously enough, I actually think that a remake that showed that the themes of AKIRA could take on bold new meaning if set in American culture is actually possible. Just wait a few years and cast Amandla Stenberg as Kei.
