I could not help but wonder if they do not recommend using a garden hose because it carries carcinogens the why are we watering our vegetable gardens with it.The plants absorb these carcinogens then we 'eat' them?Hmmm

My grandmother did this boiling/bleach treatment 40 years ago to lake water.Also good to remember to wash any eating/drinking utensils in purified water to avoid contaminates on them.

hmm, I think that the best way to get clean water is using mechanical (paper or carbon) filters with UV-C lamps (the same as the lamps in aquaria desinficators). But it needs power supply :(
