This REALLY looks like one of those good intentions the road to hell is paved with - AND, -this opening sentence is worded in a HEARTFELT effort to skirt the issue that the damage done by the ILL ADVISED addition in question MAY have been INTENDED. Maybe & hopefully it's all for the best because perhaps Nationalism & Religion should be NonPublicSchool endeavors . Nonetheless- I love the " liberty & justice " part and would put the original back ASAP. [ PS= it WAS ALL VERYVERY PREDICTABLE ]

@rosemarie443. What is this- the Tower of BabbleDeGibberish all over again? If this pledge where ONLY a pledge, it would stop after " for which it stands". How'bout we pledge allegiance to one language. For example- when I pledged allegiance to my wife, just her name was needed. No one thought it necessary to be mentioned that she couldn't be broken apart or that she was under god. Furthermore, it would have been QUITE A CURIOSITY if anyone had. [ it looks like the work of Separatists to me ]

@pecs2052 well i think that you sent that question to the wrong person, just check it out. I do not believe in any bible, all bibles were written byi 40 men, and has been translated at least 5 to 8 times, I do not cherish anything, i believe in God and Jesus and that is all

@brianc1959 Rosemarie, did you know the King James Version of the bible that you so cherish was commissioned by a queer man? Yes your beloved King James bible was actually written by a man who laid down with other men!

All the dislikes are from those who'd rather see us as a communist or socialist nation instead of having personal freedoms.

We should add " under God " to everything. That way we will have a constant reminder that everthing is under God .

Amen to Red Skelton. A truly great American! I agree that every American should watch this and think about this regularly. Starting today, our 2 youngest, ages 5 and 6 will be watching this often. ( I think they'll enjoy Clem too)

@brianc1959 U posted a lot but said nothing. I believe in God & Jesus, but the bible was written by man not God or Jesus. now can U prove to me that everything in the bible is true? can U prove that what is written there is truly what God and Jesus wanted to say? or is it the ideas of 40 men, on what they think.maybe if you can prove that nothing was lost in the many translations of the bible. and U mentioning the bible did not offend me, it does not bother me at all, did i say i was a christian
Red Skelton, an American original.

This should be mandatory viewing in all schools in our country, at the onset of every day by all members of congress, and of course in the White House.
