  • I haven't purchased this product but I have read many reviews. It's more compact then the Bosch(heavy, bulky), DeWalt(almost same weight as Makita) or Milwaukee(Heavy 22lbs). I'm still looking for a consistent review on radio reception. Radio reception can either be have a good or bad review, depends which website you read the. If you're looking for a work-site/jobsite radio that has a charger built into, look at the DeWalt DC011 or Bosch PB10.

  • The reception is great. We took it in a basement and didn't have any problems with reception. But again we live about 40 miles from Chicago, so we are pretty close to the transmitters. When we compared the reception to what we receive in the truck, we couldn't tell a difference.

  • The Makita Radio will not charge the battery. Wish it did. The battery will last 8 hours with a 1.5 Amp while the 3 Amp will last 16 hours (Running the radio)

  • @milton94652 with the 14,4 Volt 1,3 ah as far as i know about 6 - 8 hours

  • i have a 14.4 drill how long will the battery last last in the radio ?

  • I don't have any Makita tools so I tried my Ryobi batt and it works!!(so far) anyone else try this?

  • Im seriously dissapointed with this radio. I work outdoors and it just doesnt go loud enough, its not too bad indoors, but as far as im concerned its no where near as good as a dewalt radio.

  • if you wonna radio for work get 1 ov these i gt 1 yesterday ther class theyv got ryt gud bass on em n b4 i got 1 i was walkin round site n sum ppl had 1, deffinetly the best soundin radio ive ever heard !

  • You can also purchase this Makita for $61.00 at Amazon

  • Useless, It should charge the batteries + have an iPhone dock at the very least!

  • does the radio charge the drill batterys when plugged in? or is batter spot just ment to run the radio with out plug in?

  • A really good idea; I wish I would have had this idea. Simple, compact, and quality.
