George O'Brien stars as a charming and witty high sea hero in this movie. Bruce Lane(O'Brien) is sent to track down Mr. Selby(Evans) and hand deliver a subpoena to him. When he makes it aboard the 'Lady Betty' he is held as an unwilling crew member until the race Mr. Selby is in is over. One night, the 'Lady Betty' collides with a larger ship, and almost all crew of the wrecked ship (including Bruce) are held against their will by a captain wanting to turn Selby (and everyone else) in to bandits for ransom. Can Bruce save the day and help everyone get off this ship alive?
George O'Brien is probably best known for his role as 'The Man' in the silent classic Sunrise. His acting in subsequent roles remained spot on, and his voice was very fitting. Although O'Brien was exclusively cast in Westerns during the 1930's, this movie offers something different for our hero.
