Konstantinov use to smash people in the 90s, Emelin isn't the first but yeah it's not too much of Russia's style to be as physical. Volchenkov is in your face but not a smash type like the other two

this guy is a beast!!!! i havent seen a cheap hit from him yet, hes smart about his hits, his hipchecks are unreal. its funny watching players try to hit him because they don't realize how big and strong he actually is, lets just say they don't try and hit him the second time around

i was at that game and that hit was unreal. it looked liked he was gunna get plaster but out of no where he reversed it! his physical play is amazing. he truly is talented. its nice to see a skilled hitter coming from russia and not north america for once. not that russians dont know how to hit ( alex ovechkin is good at it) put it has never been a prominent part of their game so it is nice to see a guy like emelin coming out of russia
