GE envisions flexible, thin OLED lighting applications

At GE, we think a roll-to-roll manufacturing capability for OLEDs can (1) enable low-cost manufacturing and (2) allow design flexibility versus stiff glass panels. We see our ultra-high barrier coatings experience as beneficial to our pursuit of a low-cost flexible substrate that could protect the OLED material throughout its life. GE debuted this video at the LightFair International 2009 trade show in New York City.
