Aretha and Donny were friends. Aretha was in the studio with Mr. Hathaway when he recorded this song. She just took the song and went to church with it. same format just her stamp on it...it was a great way to honor her friend Mr. Donny Hathaway!!! May he still live through his music

Donny's first, Bobby's second, Alicia's third, Aretha's fourth, George's fifth, Ruben sixth. But still a very nice cover - but not even close to those two masters of soul.
