From what I read on another copy of this on YouTube and IMDb, this version did not involve Mr. Baum at all. It was based on a musical stage version from 1902.

Interesting. I never saw a movie any earlier than the 1920's. kinda hard to follow what's going on though.

undergroundman1993: Thanks for sharing with us that interesting bit of information on your great grandfather. As per my great grandfather, I know that he was a supervisor for a now defunct gypsum mine. He may have started working there when he was still a child but I would have to examine the personnel files of the mine to verify that.

It's true, my great grandfather worked in a coal mine when he was nine years old. The child labor laws didn't come into effect until 1914.
It's almost 100 years old, I'm sure it looked fantastic back then lol.
