A charming John D Loudermilk song about the gritty Ma Baker who defeated the might of the Tennessee Valley Authority. Yippee!

  • Love the Grannie Clampett pic! Gentle little old lady indeed...

  • Little old ladies can be tough cookies. Take care!

  • Very nice rendition of one of my favorite Loudermilk songs. I'm glad people such as yourself are keeping the message alive. I'm afraid nowadays (here in the USA)if Ma Baker tried that the police would taze her, shoot her in the head or worse! They'd call it eminent domain or something and force her off of the land she already paid for. Big surprise, right? Didn't the US government promise the Black Hills to the Sioux Indians for as long as the grass grew and the sun rose? Nothing changes..

  • Sadly unfashionable, Loudermilk is a wonderful songwriter. I have one or two others I might try.
