OMD - Enola Gay

Enola Gay è il bombardiere che il 6 agosto 1945 sganciò su Hiroshima la prima bomba atomica. Enola Gay è il nome della madre del pilota, Paul Tibbets.

Gli OMD sono un gruppo fondato nel 1978 da Andy McCluskey e Paul Humphreys.



Una delle strofe del lorro più famoso brano del 1980 recita così:




"Enola Gay, saresti dovuto restare a casa ieri

Oh, le parole non potranno mai spiegare i sentimenti e il modo in cui hai mentito.

Ti diverti con questi giochi, ma finiranno in lacrime prima o poi."

Non sarebbe mai dovuta finire in questo modo...

belle le parole e anche la melodia di questo brano... in realtà Enola Gay era la nose-art (decorazione) del B-29, che appunto riprendeva la madre di Tibbets... Little Boy invece era il nome della bomba sganciata dal velivolo (per questo a un certo punto dice Enola Gay is mother proud of Little Boy today)

I'm surprised someone hasn't already made an AMV out of this song set to footage from the 1983 film adaptation of Keiji Nakazawa's "Barefoot Gen", since both the song and the film deal with the Hiroshima nuclear attack of 1945.
