Improvised Solo 4 - Plectrumhead

Ok so i was watching some of GGuerra's videos and noticed he wanted votes for Guitar Idol 2008 so i signed up and gave him my vote straight away ;)
Then i noticed you can download backing tracks which can be used to enter the competition so i downloaded some and here is one with me doing a solo over the top.
I did think about entering the comp but like i said in my profile i don't think i have the confidence to do it.
Oh well maybe i will no harm in trying.
Btw good luck to anybody who as entered.

Nothing at all with the playing in this video. It's good to show other aspects of your playing. Don't box yourself in to just doing the melodic leads that you are most comfortable doing. I love your melodic lead style but it's cool that you stepped outside your comfort zone.

You are right and thats all i try to do just show different aspects of playing with near enough the same equipment so that people can see what style and sound you can get from the equipment used.

Yes i totally agree with the fast parts my dad always hates me playing like that with no feeling maybe i was just show boating instead of sticking to my routes of Clapton,Gilmour,Latimer.

Solo demo 2 probably shows more of my feeling and daydreamer which i wrote.

I see what your saying stick to what i know and it goes to show speed isnt everything thanx again ;)

Hi man, as requested i watched your video. You have some good musical ideas going on but i think when it comes to the faster parts of your solo some of the musicality is thrown out the window a little. Also, some of the alternate picking sounds a little sloppy friend.

Some great melodies though, just because they are reminiscent of Satch doesnt mean he blatantly ripped them off, the whole point of music is to draw influence from a variety of sources and blend them into your own style.

You are refering to surfing with the alien also if you listen kirk hammett's solo on master of puppets he does the same.

It's just an improvised solo thats it.

Just because i do a bit of tapping for 5 seconds dosn't mean i am ripping satriani off.

I listen that much music i'm going to pick up different styles specialy when i have never had a lessons.
