I Don't Want To Be A Mother Anymore Because I'm Ready To Pursue Dream Of Being A Stripper

Christina Jean Muniz, a 29-year-old Sunrise woman, was jailed Friday after she allegedly punched her 11-year-old son in the stomach in front of officers - stating that she did not want her kids anymore.

According to the Surprise Police Department, Muniz's 11-year-old son called officers after his mother told him that she was moving to California and leaving him and his 6-year-old brother behind.

Investigators say when officers arrived on the scene, the boy was standing outside the family's apartment, located on Greasewood Street. While police were talking to the boy, his mother came outside and stated that she was "sick of her children" and that she wanted police to take them so she could "have fun and play."

Officers inspected the residence and found a glass pipe in Muniz's bedroom. They determined living conditions to be deplorable, so they contacted Child Protective Services. While awaiting their arrival, Muniz reportedly drank wine and even passed out for about 45 minutes.

While CPS employees were processing the case, Muniz continued to be verbally abusive to her children and reportedly punched her elder son in the stomach as he was trying to hug her goodbye, according to police.

"The mother had every intention of leaving them; that was something she was trying to do," said Sgt. Mark Ortega of the Surprise Police Department. "She said she was sick of them, she didn't want to be a mother anymore and wanted to start over."

Ortega went on to say, "The officer noted in the report how extremely happy she was and excited that (the kids) were gone. She was excited she could start her life over and that she could follow her dream of wanting to become a stripper and move to California."

But that dream will have to wait.

Muniz was booked into jail and charged with child neglect, aggravated assault, disorderly conduct, and possession of drug paraphernalia. She is being held on $20,000 bond.
