Arianna Huffington and Hugh Hewitt debate her confrontation with Roger Ailes, on ABC's "This Week," concerning Glenn Beck's controversial "slaughtered" and "killing spree" statements.

Later in the interview, Hewitt comments on Keith Olbermann (7:04): "He's a joke. He's recognized as a joke. His ratings have gone through the floor because he's a sportscaster who doesn't know anything."

Also, Arianna has enough note cards in her hands that one wonders if she intends to wallpaper the studio with them. Additionally, she glances down/shuffles through them several times--all for a couple of Beck quotes, really? Hewitt doesn't need any cards, notes or cheat sheets to debate.

  • What Hewitt knows about logic fits on the sharp end of a pin with room to spare.

  • Those corporations sneaking that bad medicine through regulators (if what you are saying is true, not informed on the particular case) then it tells me that not only is government keeping life saving products from being used, it is failing to keep products that harm away from us. I am not anarchist, I am probably not even a libertarian, just skeptical of the idea that government regulation really works most of the time.

  • @MountMarcyNY

I have no illusion that corporations, individuals, or governments are going to do terrible things for some perceived profit. However, selling a faulty product will eventually lead to punishment, often through legitimate litigation or punishment for criminal negligence. Also, it undermines the need for government to bring up occasions were government regulation has failed to do its part in protecting the public.

  • @MountMarcyNY

    That's a start.

    j/k

Reducing regulation and eliminating all regulation are two very different things. Regulation has not gone overboard by keeping us from feeding our babies mercury, it has gone to far in a host of other ways. Like letting thousands of people die of heart disease over several years by keeping a proven drug ff the shelves, or preventing Africans from using DDT. Far more people die from over regulation than from under regulation. Peace.

  • @LibertyInProgress

I KNOW! I hate him too! But the name of the host of Countdown is Keith Olbermann, not Hugh Hewitt. Be careful dude, you slip up like that and accuse HEWITT of being a turd head, people are going to think YOU'RE stupid. Glad to help, hope you don't mix up your name anymore.

  • He should never have defended Glenn, Let it go Hugh, just let it go.

  • @OhioDemocrat

    As if doing either matters.

  • @Gerkinstock

    Nice, great post.

  • Environmentalist policies on the international scale has killed millions. I would not say it is "like Hitler" as the killings were not intentional. No, Hitler was a mad genius of incredible evil while the left is made up of agents of made stupidity and ignorance.
