Gradius II Arcade - Full Run on Very Difficult (3/4)

This is part 3 of a full run of Gradius II Arcade on the hardest difficulty.
Machine settings:

Difficulty: Very Difficult
Bonus: First bonus at 20000 and then every 70000

Gradius II is the best in the series, more advanced than the first, but without the extreme recovery problems of Gradius III, and without the high difficulty of Gradius IV. Great music and level design. I never get tired of playing through this game no matter how many times I lose =).

The video covers the Boss on Parade. The first one ever! Anyways the bosses, in order, are:

1. Big Core
2. Brain Golem
3. Tetran
4. Gau
5. Intruder
Boss: Covered Core

None of these are especially difficult....

**TIPS**
-If you're coming in with full power: hide in the bottom left like I did, with your options above and below, and don't stop shooting.

-If you're coming in with no power: Get two speedups, laser, then as many options as you can.

-The faster you kill Tetran, the better. It speeds up and the blades get longer if you stay too long. The timeout period is pretty long, so it's better to destroy it.

-For points, you can milk the eyes shot out by the Life Force boss, it shoots ten in a round (usually), each eye is 100 points, so you can rack up 1000 points at a time quick. I didn't do so in this video, obviously.

-With Fire Dragon, lead it in a circle so that it on the right side of the screen when it becomes vulnerable (eyes brighten). Then blast away.

-Covered Core's missile pattern IS ALWAYS THE SAME. ALWAYS. Stick to the very left side, and only move forward when a missile will hit you. Move back afterwards.

The third boss is Gaw/Gau and the fourth is not Fire Dragon its called Intruder im guessing you don't know the bosses that well or maybe just these but good run though.

At the time of playing this run I did not know the names of those too bosses because I had never played Salamander before, and finding names for some of these bosses is hard. For example, I still don't know the name of the gunwall on the final stage.

I thought it was the high difficulty of Gradius III and extreme recovery problems of Gradius III and IV?

Gradius III isn't as hard as people make it out to be, it's just really long. Recovery is impossible in it.

Recovery is very possible in Gradius IV, the game gets easier each time you die. I can recover dying on Moai stage on hardest difficulty.

The only reason I watched the speed run was to see the Lifeforce/Salamander boss fight because the Salamander theme is awesome... and because I haven't played a cool SHMUP since Ikaruga, Gradius V, and Radiant SIlvergun

5th boss is named "Missiles", I believe. The ice boss of the crystal stage is "Ice Ice".
