  • Thanks for this tutorial :) Very simple & easy to follow. Have you ever done this on a larger scale? I've got a large portrait frame & this idea for it which requires the box to be about 10cm thick. I was considering using a shoebox (and a half, the frame is too tall for just 1 box) and then having like 2 different scenes inside. The objects inside would only be extremely light, but I'm worried the shoeboxes won't be enough to hold the weight of the frame. Any tips other than resorting to wood?

  • @kyliesmiley16 This sounds like a great idea. If you are worried about the strength of the boxes, I would use duck tape around the edges. This is extremely strong and will hold things together for you I would think (it held my car together for a while). Another idea would be to use hardboard. Cut the back and the sides separately using a Stanley knife and assemble with duck tape. This would also work and give you one chamber instead of two if that is the way you want to go. Good luck. :)

  • @kyliesmiley16 You could also use balsa for the side panels, this is extremely light and can be cut with a blunt knife, but is very strong. Card for the back panel would still be ok.

  • Why dont you use cutter instead of scissor so you can use your cutting board.

  • @boyutip dunno. probably the scissors were to hand and the scalpel/cutter was blunt! lol.

  • Is the black tape in this video electrical tape? or a black duct tape?

  • @Tam028 it is just black sticky tape - I think anything will work as long as it is sticky!
