Here's the rollout of the Coast Guard SRR bird (HH-65A) at my old employer, Aerospatiale, in Grand Prairie back in the mid 80s. I was a Flight Line Avionics Tech on the prototype and I actually out-engineered some Collins/Rockwell types who made obscene amounts of money for NOT knowing that an aircraft antenna needs a ground to work against and who were dumb enough to think that UHF ops were going to be possible using prototype comm gear...WITH RADIO SHACK RG-58 COAXIAL JUMPERS WITH SCREW-ON P259 CONNECTORS INSTEAD OF N-TYPE CONNECTORS !!!!! They took my advice, changed these items, got the comms to work finally, and promptly laid me off with about 100 others because they lost a PHI contract due to missed deadlines.
Love the Tampax intro!
