South from Texas: Ep. 1 - The "Ruta Recreativa" (Guadalajara)

Guadalajara was the first place I visited south of the Texas border. I have gone back every year since. My hotel was located two streets over from the Ruta Recreativa (also now promoted as the "Via RecreActiva") so I stumbled upon it quite by accident. It is a people-watchers extravaganza that begins on the east end of downtown - only a couple of blocks south of the cathedral - and ends on the west end under the famous arch, and a couple of blocks from the Minerva statue. Highly recommended for your first Sunday in Guadalajara.
