It seems absurd, in these sexually saturated times, that the nature of women's genitalia remains so problematic and more likely, embarrassing. Through the ages we have become more comfortable with discussing private and intimate issues concerning our bodies and sex, yet the Vagina is still taboo and this is putting women at risk.

The most common vaginal infection is called Bacterial Vaginosis in fact experts believe that as many as 1 in 3 women will have it at some point in their lives.

But what is it, and how do you deal with it?

In this video Doctor Dawn Harper from TVs Embarrassing Illnesses has the answers.

Have you seen her yet? and What did she say?

  • With all the info resources we have today, it is sad that we still feel embarrassed to talk about this medical problem. - Hope4Vaginitis (Bacterial Vaginitis and Trich) videos also try to open the doors to communication. Brochures and Wet Mount located on our FB.

  • @Sdkacura1 No its not contagious. Its is just an imbalance of the environment of the vagina. Its a lot like a yeast infection except it has to be treated with antibiotics.

  • I am going to see Dr Harper in order to volunteer for sperm donation. I will put my hands in plaster of paris and ask in a pathetic voice if she could help me out!!!

  • Trush: UK term for Yeast Infection

  • @Sdkacura1 No as far as i know

  • @Sdkacura1 No BV is not deadly.... its a headache

  • How old is Dr Dawn?

  • I would love to have a look at Dr Harpers vagina.

  • @wishywashygirl19 Thrush is another name for candida infection. Many people get a white coating on their tongue when they have candida overgrowth in their body.
