Check out the web page www.worldrelief.org/seattle for more information. The Refugee Project is a 3 hr. education/simulation program that is World Relief's public education resource. This video was created by Seattle Pacific University after their participation and subsequent desire for more involvement with our refugees new to America. Students from SPU have become cultural companions, interns with World Relief Seattle, and some eventually caseworkers or other World Relief staff. This is one way that The Refugee Project has benefitted World Relief's resettlement program. Other types of groups that have gone through the 3 hr. program - families, church groups, jr. high students, teachers of ESL students, gov't employees with direct refugee contact, etc. - have gotten involved in different ways. But the bottom line is that each simulation participant is forever changed. It is an education not just for the head but for the heart.
