People who try so hard to conform and people who try so hard not to conform are both are doing it for the same reason: To try to be "cool." Just be your natural self. If it happens to conform with others, then great. If not, then you are unique. Who cares!

When I was a kid I believed that police and politicians were all good too and the news never lied, etc. We were taught a bunch of bullshit!

Ok. For example. I once thought all authority figures are honorable, law abiding, good hearted people who only look out for the well being of others. And the reason I thought that is because I saw it on the cartoons and movies I used to watch as a child.

I consider that type of thinking idiocy.  I'm not a master of the English language, but I doubt many would disagree with me on that.
