On Friday, July 9, 2010, Oklahoma Materials Recycling held a groundbreaking ceremony for its new facility in Atoka. KTEN Television covered the event and interviewed Senator Jay Paul Gumm, OMR CEO Bob Lupini, and Atoka Mayor Charles McCall III. A key component for attracting the company - and its $2 million annual payroll - to Atoka was preservation of state tax credits until the deal between Atoka and the company was finalized. Senator Gumm, whose district includes a portion of Atoka County, led efforts to preserve the tax credits. This report aired July 9 on KTEN's 10 p.m. newscast anchored by Lisanne Anderson.
