This is how the car sounds with the new MSD 6AL ignition box. I put a 3000 RPM rev limiter chip in the MSD. I started up the car, and let it idle at 1500 RPM for a minute. Then I slowly brought up the RPM - you can hear the rev limiter start kicking in at around 2500 RPM. Then when I open it up, it sounds like a machine gun - and the limiter is holding the motor at 3000 RPM.

  • So what does msd ignitions do for your car exactly I thought they are just a product to help start your car?

  • @7025730168 Ignition boxes don't have much to do with starting your car. That is what your battery and the starter are for. Ignition boxes are what fires off your spark plugs, and can control the ignition timing (by changing when the spark plugs fire) and limit the engine rpm (by making the spark plugs not fire).

  • In a Drag Car Why Not Go 7AL?

  • @Sc0oteR60d They didn't have a 7AL with a 3-step when I bought this.
