If you are not entirely convinced you can contact Alan Dershowitz directly, unlike the trash that run the 'military dictatorship' (Hilary Clinton, whom you can also contact) of Iran. As per the millions of people granted refugee status and political asylum, the west has clearly demonstrated its advocacy of liberty. As for Iran, Hashemi Rafsanjani--a leading light of the so-called opposition--has declared that it would be worth the loss of 15-million Iranians and other Muslims in the region, if it guaranteed the elimination of Israel and all the Jews. Neither Russia, nor any Arab state has publicly countered this line of thought.

North Korea, that bastion of liberty, is also a stalwart friend of Iran. So if Russia desires to be associated with that class of friendship, Russia is welcome to them all. As already alluded to: with or without Russia, Iran is going down in flames if the Iranian Mullocrcay does not submit to the will of the west.
