  • Good answer to a good question.

    I think the most important thing is that the fight against homophobia is only partly, and only a small part, a legal fight. Far moreso it is a fight to raise awareness – to educate, and ask people to question these centuries-old fears and stigmas.

    With this regard the first amendment/religion question is moot, because it just as much protects our right to question those who speak against gays, to rally, to protest their actions, which is what we must be doing.
