An early 'rails' mission from Battlefield: Bad Company 2. I became suspicious after the first couple times I played this section and decided to just let the 'game' play itself without any input from me. I just sat there and watched. Sure enough, you can make it through the entire section without touching a key, pressing a button or moving the mouse.
This reminds me of the starting mission in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 where you're placed in a Humvee with a minigun with: unlimited ammunition and no heat restrictions. I remember 'playing' this part of the game by just holding down the fire button and continuously moving my mouse to the right, just spinning in a wild circle firing aimlessly and completing the 'mission'.
Sure the graphics are kind of pretty, but am I the only one who thinks the 'gameplay' in these modern FPS' aren't what they used to be? I don't mind a single-player, on-the-rails, story-based first-person shooter. But if it's going to be completely non-interactive, where the player's actions have no value whatsoever, it's not a 'game', it's a 'movie'.
My opinion.
