I never got how to appropriately upgrade my characters by myself. You know, with the Ali and Cha system and stuff, that I now know a little more about. To me, those were just regular stats that you had, maybe, to upgrade just like others to get stronger, but I didn't knew about the whole system behind those stats and how to raise them like I wanted. Would you consider Ogre Battle to be a rather complicated strategy game? To me it does but... that's what I think.

I'd say that Ogre Battle is definitely complicated at first. There are quite a few unconventional mechanics in the game that take some getting used to, like Ali and Cha. The game is basically a whole different breed of strategy game to learn. It is a smooth ride once you become comfortable with it, though.

Much like Mario Kart 64. Although the Virtual Console screen says 1997, the main screen for the game says 1996.
