Some of you people need to calm down. Yes, he clearly doesn't need the money because he has more than enough, but he gave it to charity. Most people would have bought a big screen tv or something. And he doesn't help people because he's in the public eye, he does it because he genuinely cares. I'm sure even if he wasn't as well off as he is, he would still make some sort of contribution to charity just because he's that type of person.
