Behind the scenes at a series of photo shoots for My Ghetto Pop Life: A Dream Sequence. In this montage we introduce the character "Death" to the people of NYC. In My Ghetto Pop Life a hip-hop dancer falls asleep and is visited by two apparitions "The Nightmare Queen" and "Death"
This repertory piece My Ghetto Pop Life: A Dream Sequence was first commissioned in 2008 by the French Consulate in NYC and is the repertory company's signature piece. To ring in their new season, they are traversing New York City reenacting scenes from the piece.
Once again Artistic Director Safi A. Thomas is collaborating with renowned photographer Anna Kuzmina of AK47 Division as The Hip-Hop Dance Conservatory Repertory Company takes on Manhattan and educates it's populace on the wonders of dreams using hip-hop dance.
