Arlo Guthrie & Pete Seeger LIVE at Wolftrap. Pete leads everyone to sing his famous song. He was seventy four at that time and every year he keeps saying, "Well, ya know, this will be my last time". This year Pete is 89 years old and he & his grand son Tao Rodriquez/ Seeger will be playing Carnegie Hall with Arlo and family!

I saw him in an empty lot in Killeen, TX. in 1971. We could barely hear him because an army helicopter hovered overhead the entire time. But he gave it his best and sang for about an hour. There are some people who are just good through and through and he's one of them, a person with the courage of his convictions.

I think that this is just Pete and his grandson Tao not Arlo as well, unless Arlo is on the left of the picture playing guitar. The main singing is done by Pete and Tao and live versions of this song are always the best. Pete was 94 years young yesterday and still going strong and may he continue to do so for many years to come. xopm

Good video and a true and timeless classic! I've seen Pete Seeger sing this many times over the years at Clearwater's Great Hudson River Revival. I also like Mary Travers version too.

In World War II, the Nazis declared war against the rights of others to exist. Defending those people was the right thing to do. However, war always results in pain, suffering and death. Thus, it is best avoided if at all possible.

The Viet Nam war was a far different kind of war. It resulted in pain, suffering, and death for no reason.
