Every 13-year-old girl dreams of that nice, but hard-to-get, boy. And Joppe is no different, consulting her friend on how to ask Brian out. But just how should she tell him that she was born a boy?
This film won the Jury Award for Best Documentary Short at the Los Angeles Film Festival, the audience award for Best Short Film at TranScreen Filmfestival Amsterdam, the Panasonic award for Best Short Documentary at World Wide Short Filmfestival Toronto, Canada and the Teresa Pellati Award for Best Acting Performance for Joppe at the OZU Film Festival in Italy (although she's a non-actress being herself in this film) .

  • Great film! What a beautiful and mature girl :)

I know many ppl who should watch this to get rid of the stereotypes and understand more. Cheers from Poland!

  • @Lemmiwinks96 Actually you are disgusting for referring to a person as "it". And, if you're an adult, for being turned on by a 13 year-old. BTW If you actually could understand what she says, you would've figured out that she has not transitioned yet, she is not even on hormones yet; so no "disgusting vagina" there. But when she does get one, I assure you it's not "disgusting" at all - you practically cannot tell the difference.

Anyway, such a beautiful film and such a beautiful girl...

  • I really love it, its the third time I saw it :)

and sometimes i forgot she was born a boy.. Im her age, and i can perfectly be her friend

  • @KomediaSusan I didn´t.. I just realized that someone else did.. Anyway, thanks for posting this nice video.. I think it should be more promoted because i think it would make a lotta people change their minds.. Greetings from Costa Rica.

  • Thank you, Susan, for this beautiful film. It is so needed - to fight with people's superstitions.

  • she is super cute

  • @shofunny no man, she's super beautiful and not a boy... there is more and more evidence that sometimes the brains just don't match the body. i like this film (:

  • I'm feeling for the boy. There is a reason behind why the boy wants to be a girl. There always is a reason. Sometimes it can be past, early childchood, some trauma, it is in our unconscious mind. I do not like an idea of a gender change. And no, I do not have any religion. I just feel the nature created us the way we should be. I feel thios world goes sick. :( I try to explain to myself that there are so many genetic diseases out there, maybe this is just one of them. But it doesn't fit.

  • This was really cute, I wish her the best!

  • this is an awesome video great job....
