MH-53Ds
I could watch that shit all day.
I guess I did back in the 60's when I was aboard the CVA-31. (the OLD Bon Homme Richard).
But it was A4s, F8s, A1s, A3s, C2As, and S2Fs back then.
I took an 8MM camera up to the 07 level as often as I could...not often because I was V-4 Div and mostly busy 24-7.
I did manage to get several hours of footage and then lost it in a flood....sux.
I would love to see it again.
Oh well...you LHD 6 guys think about us old Bonnie Dick sailors once in a while.

These are MH-53D. They were built initially as mine towers for the Navy, hence the MH desgnation. These are hand me downs from the Navy to the Marine Corp. It is not the MH-53D Pavelow. That was flown by the Air Force and had the composite blades of the current CH-53E, but it is the airframe fo the MH-53D with alot of special electronics built-in or added on. the MH designated Super Stallion airframe was re-inforced and had the most powerful engines out all the D-type 53's.
Awesome landing and great helicopter!!!
