I grew up in the U.S. but, became Canadian as an adult and wouldn't move back there for anything. The problem is if the U.S. thinks Canada is so "weak" then why are they SO interested in exporting their laws here? FATCA anyone? Extra territorial policing by the U.S.? Maybe if we are so undesirable in Canada the United States should stop passing their laws off and trying to enforce them over the border. You know, mind your own business eh!

I am Canadian and YES people DO say "aboot" here compared to the way it is pronounced in the U.S. or England. They say A bOUT pronouncing the "ow" sound whereas here not so much to varying degrees. You just don't hear yourself when you say it!

My ancestry is Scottish, they came to Canada from Scotland, then here to Michigan. The Canadian armed forces have many Highland regiments and those boys are nothing to be trifled with. I grew up next to and have always appreciated the great people of Canada, and still have relatives in Ontario. T any Canadian, you have a friend here!
