I like Graham Cooke a lot, not only does he speak truth, but he doesn't shout constantly like a lot of annoying preachers. As if saying the words louder will make it more clear.
If we confess our sins, He is faithful to forgive us and cleanse us of ALL unrighteousness. When you sin, confess, receive forgiveness from God, & then meditate on what is PURE, GOOD, PRAISE-WORHTY, etc- the fact that Jesus' blood is so powerful & He so loving, that He washes you white as snow. ADDED BENEFIT: as you see how much He loves you and how forgiving He is, you will fall in love with Him even more and that love will be more pleasurable than sin, so you won't sin as much in the future!
When we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us of all unrighteousness. Meditate on whatever is pure, lovely, praise-worthy, etc. Meditate on how good and loving God is to forgive us of our sins and cleanse us of all unrighteousness because of the blood of Jesus. Don't meditate on the sin because God forgave you of it. If you are cleansed, you are cleansed. Don't spit on the blood of Jesus' by saying it's not good enough to wash you as white as snow. He loves you
he took on our curse so that we could become like him and rather than pursue a life of our own, pursue our relationship with the father which is the first rule, The commission to heal others and help others is the second. You can't do the second unless you do the first. We are still subject to curses throughout this life but God has given us the ability to turn those curses into triumphs just like he did.
I think what he's saying is that God is a generous God when it comes to sin in our lives BECAUSE He's already defeated sin through Christ.
When we look at ourselves with a very negative, cynical point of view and focus on our sin then we don't experience the confidence God has in Himself to cleanse us.
He hates sin, but He wants us to focus on His heart as a cleansing God.
I don't know if that is different then what Graham actually said, but it's possible that's what he meant.
