I see these in West TX. More energy efficient than AC, but not effective in humid climates.

What is the model # and Brand of your Evaporative cooler.
we have a cooler with 3 inch pad on the roof now and planning on replace it , when we get a new roof this year for the house. We really like the way you install the cooler on the concret pad. I think the thinker pads are much better for cooling. Thanks for the video

Hi, THIS Evap air cooler (EAC) is an Aerocool (see at 17 seconds from start), but the rigid media evaporative fluted "cardboard", is made by the Munter's Corp in USA. They typically are sold in 6, 8 and 12-inch thicknesses (in the direction of airflow). Austrailia makes Breezeair coolers that do use a 3-inch thick rigid media that they make, with smaller flutes. YES, Pad-mounted means no roof to mount for service, so maintenance is easier.

that sort of chimney thing behind the cooler, is that just to distribute the air to the upper parts of the house? Also, im am concidering getting one, do u have to open a window on the other side of the house? And finally what are running costs? cheers!

That chimney thang is an enclosed duct riser to the ceiling space, where the ducts distribute the air. Yes, 100% outside air is necessary. search updux for alt way. Depends on hours of oper, motor is 1/3hp fan & 1/20th hp sump pump. YOUR LAND MUST HAVE A LOW SUMMER WET-BULB TEMP, OR DRY AIR FOR AN EVAPORATIVE COOLER TO WORK. Bests - JME
