I just want to play chess easily.
Around the world, chess is very famous like TV game.
In Japan, people don't know even the rule.
It's a pity...

concerning ratings, fischer had a greater disparity between him and the next highest rated opponents than did kasparov. however fischer did this for maybe a year whereas kasparov for probably 20 (and i suspect the russian federation wanted to throw off his game by letting him win a lot of games b4 the match with spassky).

@ChessNoir Well thanks for uploading! Some of the crap that gets onto tv and yet they don't make shows like this. The world's getting dumber by the day.....

I really like fischer i like his personality and the way he talks. Hes very personable it seems.

Nice.

What did Fischer do for 20 years? I wonder If he ate out of the dumpsters. He should have kept playing to make money.

I wish we had more programs like this. In Sweden we tried once but it failed pretty hard because of the lack of viewers. Guess people want something more simple on TV. I just love this type of analyse, simple but not too simple or overanalysing.

@willsmackyoudown That's why Morphy who Fischer has described as possibly the greatest genius of them all is excluded even from the lower reaches of many top 10 lists yet tops others!
Since commenting i've examined the chessmetrics ratings system which Fischer tops at approx. 2885, followed directly by Kasparov (28??) and this involved my taking into account some of the points you've also raised so that i'm now far less confident and can't honestly say that i agree with myself anymore lol!

The same could be said about Paul Morphy? He quit after defeating the worlds best players as well. Yeah Bobby Fishcer lacks longevity which is a clear argument for GOAT, however it was pure dominance when he did play. Karpov and Kasparov both know where he ranks. Karpov has said many times fischers play and ingenuity was above theirs. Fischer didnt use chess teams to help him analyze games... and he didnt have computer technology.

Everybody knows what happened to Fischer, but it is much less documented that Spassky never again played competitive chess after this match. Perhaps the pressure and focus surrounding the match was just too intense, and neither player wished to go through such an experience again.
This is incredible! Is there any show today that is similar to this?
