I have an electric guitar. If i kept it in E-flat tuning, could I just put the capo on the first fret when I want to change to standard? please reply.

@ed0985587 not necessarily, if you want to play songs in a different key with chords that require four fingers, or maybe just difficult to play barred. :)

so a capo is pretty much for people that aren't very good with barre chords? i never used or knew what a capo really did but i assumed. i am very good at barre chords but suck at normal open chords...lol guess i am the odd one out

You're so cute haha.
I wonder if you can recommend a capo for my acoustic nylon string guitar? I think one that is easy to put on and take off would be my preference. I looked online and the different styles are confusing.

On your if today was your last day lesson you used a capo, is their anyway I can tune the guitar and play without a capo?

you should probably try to learn to play it with the capo, you could play it without the capo but the chords would be much more difficult
