S.R. Claridge's Short Story, Petals of Blood, is one of a select number of Vanilla Heart Publishing's 2013 Pushcart Prize Nominees!

She'd heard the stories about the brutal murder of his wife and the tragic death of his former girlfriend. She knew of the rumors that oozed behind his back, despite the fact he had never been more than a fleeting suspect in both cases. Rooted in a strong faith, she believes in forgiveness, in Jesus, in miracles and angels and in the power of prayer- professing openly that any good thing in her comes from God.

When asked in an interview why she is a writer, S.R.Claridge responded: "I write because I can't NOT write. I love it and I loathe it. It lifts me up and it burdens me. It hollows out my insides and it fulfills me. It is a consuming passion, driven not from a choice but from an endless craving. To ask me not to write would be asking me not to breathe."
