Herman Cain debuted in politics in 1994 by challenging Bill Clinton on Hillarycare. An expert in turning failed enterprises around, Cain now wants to be president.

Cain's mix of business savvy and staunch conservatism have made him a favorite with the Tea Party.

Support for Cain shields Tea Partiers from charges of racism.

Cain also said could win support from a third of black voters, who are traditionally staunch Democrats.

Cain shocked commentators by winning several recent straw polls. But despite his recent surge, he's now starting a book tour. What about his campaign?

  • Answer: No

  • Unless he ends those wars he'll never be able to end the debt crisis. Good luck having a GOP dominated govt. allow for that.

  • @warrenroche yea believing that taxes are the holy grail to fix the economy is naive. You forgot infrastructure, wages, labor laws, etc. Better to do it in China when you can maximize profits.

  • @DStrike0083 Tariffs? Google "smoot hawley" to see how well that works!

  • @Antharmo

The actual problem is that obama insists on spending our way out of the crisis but in the process is adding trillions to the debt. He has yet to focus on creating jobs. If he has, he's been failing miserably at it.

  • @Antharmo

The word Warmongering implies blood lust, or bad motives. Yet if it is in a context of fighting real evil, like when we went after Hitler, it is a good thing. The left always attacks motives, instead of reasoning. Perhaps Ron is wrong about leaving Iran to keep going towards blowing up Israel. Maybe he's right. But we should talk about the consequences of both, and for all people. 2nd stage thinking.

    ...questions re the wars.

You do know that in Afghanistan they throw acid into little girl's faces for going to school. If we just leave, without considering the human cost, or the morality of leaving them helpless to be slaughtered and enslaved, what does that make us? Or why wasn't the Left concerned about the 100's of thousands Sadam was murdering with WMD before we went into Iraq? Why don't they care that Iraq is now an Arab democracy? Or people risked their lives to vote.

  • @warrenroche i highly doubt that. They get lower taxes in china, lower minimum wage, lower shipping, etc. why the hell would you go back to the US to deteriorate profits? Taxes are one thing. If you want jobs to come back, create tariffs

  • @DStrike0083 When the corporate tax rate is dropped to 9% corporations will STOP moving to China and move to the U. S. instead!

  • @thegoodlocust You are, of course, right about the Democrats, I never said the GOP were more warmongering, just that they ARE warmongering.

Ron Paul seems to have his heart in the right place, for the most part. But his anti-war views are going to be marginalised by the mainstream of the GOP. They're just going to use him as bait to get more votes from the "libertarian" crowd, then throw him away in the gutter.

  • @Antharmo You implied that a GOP dominated government is more war-mongering when traditionally democrats are the ones starting more wars.

The most anti-war candidate (Ron Paul) is a member of the GOP - and he actually believes it rather than Obama who just used it to get votes.

The democrats were only anti-war because Bush was in office, which is quite obvious since all the anti-war protests stopped.

  • @thegoodlocust I never stated that Obama and his little Democratic cronies were any better.
