According to the sign this is the original Laffing Sal that was at San Francisco's Playland. Strangely, the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk ALSO claims to have the original Laffing Sal
Uh, you don't get it, in 1930 all the way to 1950, almost 300 different laffing sal figures were sold by the Philadelphia toboggan company playland at the beach closed in 1972, they owned 2 laffing sal figures then, Santa cruz beach boardwalk paid 50,000 dollars for their sal which used to stay laughing at the funhouse until it closed. The sal at the museum was playlands backup sal in case if the original sal broke. If you need more information, just type laffing sal and click on My Gal Sal.
