His playing is so incredibly clean and never lacks the sentimental side. He was my beloved teacher. I remember him in class over 80 years old - it still was very impressive though his hands were trembling from Parkinson. He was also a brilliant mind, very systematical and methodical.
He also recorded the Kochanski version of Campanella, which for me is one of the most brilliant recordings available. It is on his „Encore I" CD.
Thanks a lot for posting this, Odnoposoff merits to be remembered!

he really was a great violinist !

my favourite composition of paganini.. i just can't gat it out of my head

The slowing down, which he frequently employs, must be intended for artistic purposses. However, I don't see how that brings out any beauty or emotion. I only see it as being clever.

Odnoposoff played the best Bach I have ever
heard. I hope someone posts it.

I'm afraid there's a mistake in your description. La Campanella is fromt he Paganini Violin Concerto N°2, not N°4. C ya!
I have opened a second channel called "europeanArchive". There I have gathered highlights from the European archive collection. 500+ Lp's from the Dutch public radio library. Those recordings can be downloaded for free if you live outside the USA (sorry for that, but it was the only way the library could operate). Search "europeanArchive" on youtube, and you can find it!
