Message to naomheanna. I love this song too. But it's not Irish, nor Scots. It's Canadian. Written by Joni Mitchell. But, from Karen's performance, it does seem like it came from these islands. I don't know whether that's to Joni's credit, or to Karen's. Either way, this is a beautiful interpretation. A joy to hear.

Michael Moore LOVES this tune. despite being an American, but sure, havnt we all heard of his harrassment of the US Government!!
Anyways! This is a true representation of the true talent that comes from Ireland and Scotland. And true about the Cello, beautiful!

I appreciate very much Folk Alley`s commitment to folk and acoustic music but could I respectfully suggest that you credit all performers on your clips? 1garoutte has named the sensational cellist as Kate Ellis. Doesn`t Kate deserve a credit in the info section of the clip?

I love Kate Ellis' cello work with Karan Casey. It adds a completely different feel to "traditional" Irish music.
