This Triple Crown train was going northbound on the former Central of Georgia route on Saturday, June 27, 2009. I kept up with it using a Rans Tailwind Recumbent Bicycle. This is the same train you will see in my "Railroad Spur Track Crossing Technique for Bicyclists" video, but this video shows the train for a longer time. I had to pause the video due to obeying stop signs and a traffic signal. I'm riding on Henry Ford/South Central Avenue. The last intersection seen is that of Virginia Avenue.
Years ago, this rail line was used by the Nancy Hanks passenger train between Atlanta and Savannah, GA.
Hapeville is south of Atlanta, Georgia, USA. You can read about Triple Crown Services at http://www.triplecrownsvc.com/index.html

  • I was in Mountain Veiw yesterday.

  • @616ist That is cool! It may go through some big changes if the money is found to build a bridge under the Norfolk Southern RR, and link Conley Road with C.W. Grant Parkway (formerly Aviation Boulevard, and formerly College Park Road before that). To see more of Mountain View, watch my video with the title that starts "Forest Park to Rockmart, GA for the start of BRAG 2002" and look at the description to see how far to fast forward to see Mountain View and other points of interest. Thanks!

  • Nice horn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Thanks! I was so lucky that train came by while I was videotaping the RR Spur Track Crossing technique video.

Recently, NS has replaced a lot of crossties on that line through the area shown. The line has ribbon rail here, but it has jointed rail past Forest Park Yard, a few miles to the southeast. L8r!

  • Cool-I used to live on Oakdale and Springdale back in the 80's.

  • Cool!!! In my area, Here in new jersey, NS made a huge change to the RR crossings and the quiet zone thing is really upsetting due to people's selfish - like personalities in my neighborhood and they complained about the noise andmade it a quiet zone. People knew what they were getting. Anyway,l8r!!
