Once again no one wanted to touch this poplar due to it patially uprooting after a windstorm. I also had to create a crosslay of smaller timber in the holler below to reduce the risk of the tree shattering on impact.
I think he was worried about barberchairing, and that's why he left a strap. I usually don't see poplar hinge funny in my experience they dont hinge much as they pop. I cut trees down in urban areas. I never really use a bar that long, but it looks like he could have finished the bore cut from the first side if he had switched his hands up. The second positiion was sketchy. and if he went with just a back cut, the tree would have had a little less momentum flying down the hill. still looked fun
Great technique, I have done the same thing myself in a similar situation. The helmet cam is cool, but I noticed u didnt look up at all. Im guessing ud already looked and made sure there werent any overhead hazards etc. Overall 5*
I fell thou's of tree's like that. Way to slow , i can't belive you did't stick your saw. I allway's use a box cut fast and easy. Under cut one third way, 1/4 each side, saw the back, there's your square. The old box cut logger48
Slow and very dangerous method.

Nice weekend warrior job.
Crosslay HAHA, that little poplar could bounce off a 50 foot cliff before it slabbed out.
Trying to make things sound way bigger than they are LOL

I don't get what all the to-do was for. Can someone explain why all the fuss? Notch right side, cut from back, done. What did I miss?

That took absolutely ages for a bore cut. Why so long?
