Amity Land at Universal Studios Florida December 2011 Walk Through

The Amity area or land at Universal Studios in Orlando Florida will be closing forever on January 2nd, 2012.

The Jaws attraction at Universal Studios is closing to make way for what Universal Orlando officials are calling a major new attraction. The entire Amity area will be closing as well. Rumors are suggesting that this area will become an expansion of The Wizarding World Of Harry Potter with at least one new major attraction.

Nice video but you did miss some hidden areas which were fairly well detailed. The area to the left of the JAWS entrance which has a boat repair area as well as a marine brokerage office, harbor masters office, and a doctors office. The other is on the wharf next to the lagoon which had lots of bouts, nets, boats, crab traps, and other local type offices.

I can see why they are taking it out. The area is huge and it's just a bunch of little shops and food places. The space can be used alot more efficiently. As for Jaws, I grew up riding this ride but it is also very dated. I went on it last April and the whole time I was thinking about how stupid and fake the sharks really look. It also is very short. RIP Jaws and Amity Village but I think this is a smart decision on Universal's part. Now ask me about them taking out Back to the Future... I stil

@hannahmarie625 I agree. I think it would be nice if they had more room for expansion, but since they are so limited on room they have to choose an attraction to remove. I think they can make better use of the area as well. And the area or land was probably my least favorite area in Universal. If it does in fact become a Harry Potter expansion I think this will be a huge win for Universal in the long run.

ahhh the amity area/land has been such a memory for me. ive been to orlando around 10 times and always go on jaws. but yeah i agree with this decision of taking it out it hasn't really been attracting too many people and isn't as exciting, especially for teens like me hahaha :D
